| | The Little Prince
The Little Prince is one of my favorite paperbacks I've read when I was in high school. So when I read this poem from the compilation of Kuwaderno, I was able to ponder and connected with it. Below is the poem about the Little Prince.
Ode to The Little Prince
I am the pilot Stranded in Sahara Out of nowhere You appeared. You- fragile Inexplicably naive Little boyYet so discerning. Your acumen Flows freely into space Uninhibited You talked nothing But the world You never knew of. You treasure The trivial feats You learn and Thirst for more I thought I am A grown-up. Realized by immaturity With the radiance Of your ignorance. How I love your innocence!
Then, You occupied me With your sweet laugh That rings like Little bells in the night. You tamed my heart That kept on waiting To hear you Laugh again.
Soon I forgot you Just passed by the Earth... You want to leave For your planet You nurtured and tended Awaits you now...
Please take me And let me be The rose you kept Under the glass globe. Let me coax you With my beauty, Torment you With my vanity. Let me cast my Fragrance on you. And no, You care never too young To know how to Love me back!
I do not want The account to end For I do not want wish To sit under the stars You left for me And wait for your return.
I want to go home with you, And together we will watch The sunset - The 44 sunsets you See everyday
And you will never Have to be sad again Watching them...
